What is Stereotactic biopsy in diagnosing breast lesions?

Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers amongst women all around the world and the proper way of diagnosing is a matter of importance.

Stereotactic Biopsy is one of the most precise methods to detect small lumps and lesions like the ones caused by calcification.

Old methods of biopsy required anesthesia and surgery. But with this modern technology the biopsy can be provided without any discomfort for the patients.

In this method the patient will rest on her belly and her breasts will be hanging down and be imaged by the apparatus.

After analyzing the image on a computer by using a needle the sample will be provided for more analysis.

The main benefits of this method are its easiness and precision in detecting small lesions caused by calcification that can be detected by touch.
